IMG_4215

Have you ever been stuck without a present for the tutor/coach/babysitter? On your way to a holiday party, only to realize you have nothing for the hostess? Make sure that never happens again by picking up the above items the next time you’re at Trader Joe’s. Each holiday season TJ’s offers a delicious array of treats in super cute packaging that are just right for gifting. This year’s options are particularly alluring: the Trader Joe’s Jingle Jangle tin is a mix of dark and milk chocolate covered pretzels, chews, peanut butter cups, and popcorn – something for everyone and so good. The English Toffee with Nuts is crunchy, buttery, sweet perfection, and the Almond Snowman cookies are just right for little ones and big ones alike. Each one comes in a festive container that only needs the addition of a pretty ribbon to be presentation ready. Grab a few the next time you do the marketing and you’ll never be stuck empty handed again.

LOVING TJ’S…CANDIED PECANS

Trader Joe’s Candied Pecans are my secret shortcut to the Bibb Lettuce Salad I make every Thanksgiving. Usually I make the candied pecans from scratch. Which is raw pecans drizzled with honey and corn syrup spread over a cookie sheet and baked in the oven at 350 for 15 minutes. It isn’t that difficult, but thanks to TJ’s I have one less thing to prepare for Thursday. This culinary loop hole saves me because I have been known to forget about the pecans in the oven, scorching them and rendering them useless. Fairly annoying on a day when you have a million things to do and not much room for do overs.

LOVING TJ’S…INNER PEAS

I don’t know about you, but we are in a snack rut.  I am scrambling to please, okay not exactly scrambling, but looking outside my usual repertoire of snacks. This is where Trader Joe’s Contemplates Inner Peas comes in. 0-4I’ve seen them and thought, maybe I’ll try these? Then always seem to opt for my tried and true. Well, I can say that these light crunchy baked green peas are a hit! My kids are so fickle, one week they love something and the next week not so much. For now we have found Inner Peas , I’ll take the break where I can get it.

LOVING TJ’S…HARVEST GRAINS BLEND

IMG_0368

Are you sick of pasta, rice or any other side dish for that matter? Well then, next time your at Trader Joes’s pick up a bag of this: Harvest Grains Blend. It’s a savory blend of Israeli Couscous, Orzo, Baby Garbanzo Beans and Red Quinoa. Overall this combination of pastas & whole grains provide a nice dose of fiber and protein.

In my house I am always looking for something that is quick, easy and of course healthy that my kids won’t shun. I combine it with just about everything from fish to chicken to pork…throw in a vegee and all the major food groups are covered…my god I sound like my home ec teacher from high school.

It’s a yummy, great alternative!

LOVING TJ’S…COCOA DRIZZLED KETTLE CORN

photo-30

Clearly I am fan of all the Trader Joe’s popcorns so when I saw this one, of course I had to try it! Uhmm yum, this kettle corn is seriously soooooo good. Sometimes kettle corn can just be really sweet. TJ’S Cocoa Drizzled Kettle Corn isn’t too sweet or too salty. I mean I could go on, but it’s popcorn, you need to just try it and see for yourself. Add this to the list of treats your going to ingest this time of year anyway and for a change give up feeling bad about it.
